Stuart Gluth
Stuart Gluth is Studio Head of Graphic Design at the South Australian School of
Art, where he has previously served as Program Director and co-ordinator in the
School of Design. Prior to this he was Head of the Design Studio at the
University of Melbourne, Curriculum Officer for Graphics in TAFE Queensland and
he also has taught design workshops at remote aboriginal communities. His design
work in typography, paper engineering and writing, covering legibility of type,
teaching creativity across disciplines and the acceptance of ‘design’ as 'real'
research have been reproduced in a number of international publications and
conferences. He has also served on the Management Committee for Artlink magazine
and as a Board of Management member for the Australian Graphic Design
Association (AGDA) – On-Line Research Journal. Stuart is also a specialist in
Sustainable Graphic Design.
David Blaiklock
David Blaiklock has been a practicing Illustrator and Designer for over 20 years
and has been lecturing in Illustration Design at the South Australian School of
Art since 2000 where he is currently the Studio Head of Illustration within the
Visual Communication Program. David’s professional experience has been broad,
involving mostly creative industries related to Visual Communication. His work
has been recognized through National and International Awards and exhibitions.
In addition to that, his work is represented in the International Council of
Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) online Galeria, and his work has twice
been selected for the National Poster Annual exhibition run by the Australian
National Design Centre.
Wend Lear
Australian based freelance photographer Wend Lear divides her time between doing
art photography and freelance photojournalism. She facilitates training to
photojournalists in developing nations and conflict countries such as Nigeria,
East Timor, Indonesia and Palestine. Wend is a multiple awards winner
photographer and her work frequently appears in various Australian and
international publications.
Michael Hardt
Michael Hardt is a French based design consultant with 40 years of experience.
Besides his previous activities as Vicepresident of International Council of
Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA), Chairman of the Bureau of European
Designers Associations (BEDA), and Professor for Visual Communication Design at
the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in Norway, Michael has also been a
member of the judging panel for number of prestigious international design
awards. His expertise lies in the fields of aesthetics, semiotics, graphic
design, visual communication, and trend navigation. In addition to his
consultancy activities, he has regular teaching assignments throughout Europe
and Asia.
Gjoko Muratovski
Gjoko Muratovski is a PhD scholar with professional and educational experience
spanning from Europe and Asia to Australia. His primary expertise lies in the
areas of strategic brand management, contemporary propaganda and design
strategy. In addition to his current professional engagement as Brand Manager
and Branch Director of UniLife Inc. (Australia) and Executive Director of
Entropy Magazine, he is also the Director and co-founder of the 'Greenpeace
Design Awards'. Prior this, he worked as a CSR Creative Director for Toyota and
Creative Director for Global Promotion of the Kokino Observatory (World Cultural
Heritage). In addition, he was teaching Design and Style at the International
Institute for Fashion, Art and Design - Accademia Italiana, and Design Research
Methods at the South Australian School of Art. He is also a recipient of
numerous merit based international awards and prizes.
Joanne Cys
Joanne Cys is the National President of the Design Institute of Australia and is
Australia’s representative on the Global Design Network (GDN) and the Asia
Pacific Space Designer’s Association (APSDA). In addition to this, she is an
Associate Professor and Program Director at the Louis Laybourne-Smith School of
Architecture and Design. Joanne is also a frequent speaker at international and
national conferences and a regular contributor to professional design journals.
Chris Washington-Sare
Chris Washington-Sare has over 15 years experience producing successful
strategies and campaigns for non-profit organisations. He has worked for a
diverse range of organisations including Greenpeace, the Game & Wildlife
Conservation Trust, Plan International and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Chris
studied Typography and Graphic Communication at the University of Reading, UK
and has been responsible for devising and implementing award-winning websites
and on and off-line promotional campaigns. Amongst his marketing achievements,
he increased the voluntary income for Plan UK by 70% in 3 years, successfully
introduced a new brand identity for the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust and
co-ordinated the global marketing activities for Plan International which
generated in excess of US$500 million per annum. He is currently the Head of
Fundraising and Marketing at Greenpeace Australia Pacific.
Anna Bulman
Anna Bulman is Senior Designer at Greenpeace Australia Pacific. She has worked
as a Graphic Designer and Art Director for over 15 years and before Greenpeace
was Senior Designer and Design Manager at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo. Her work has
ranged from Corporate Design for Telstra, MasterCard and Sony through to posters
and signage for the Darling Harbour Authority and Belvoir St Theatre. Anna
previously designed the Tube posters, Leicester Square signage, invitations and
program for the 1997 London Film Festival.
